COMMIT, SUBMIT and BENEFIT #2
            Text:  Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Example of biblical order
           Matthew 8:5-10 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Commit
            2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
            1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

            1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
            2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

SUBMIT
          1 Corinthians 16:15-16 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
            16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Family order
            Ephesians 5:21-24 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
            Dad is the head, but he is subject to Christ. Everyone has a boss.

Church order
            Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

The highest order is God
            James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Civic government
            1 Peter 2:13- 14 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme.
                        14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Social order
            1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
            Thessalonians 5:12-13 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Benefit
What are the benefits of belonging to a church?

1. You have someone watching for your soul. This is part of my job.
            Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

2. You have other Christians helping you in your walk with Jesus. You are not alone. We really care for each other.

3. You have fellowship with other Christians. Social activity. They like the same things as you do.

4. You have other people to pray for you.
             James 5:13-16 Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.
                  14 Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
                  15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
                  16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Other benefits
6. You have someone to marry and bury you.

7. You have a base for ministry. A people that will support you in your callings.

8. You have a place to belong. You feel at home in your home church.

What do I Owe my Church?

            1. Your attendance. Your attendance encourages others and the leadership.
            2. Your recommendation. You should be inviting others to your church regularly.
            3. Your commendation. You need to commend ( say how much you like your church) your church.
            4. Your money. All churches have expenses, mortgages, utilities, upkeep on the property etc…
            5. Your prayers. Prayer is powerful. Prayer can move mountains.
            6. Labor. There is a lot of up keep as well as janitorial work to be done around the church.
            7. Loyalty to other members. They are your brothers and sisters. We NEED your prayers, encouragement and help. We NEED you.

Sermon notes for tomorrow 6-11-2017

DON'T GET INVOLVED
              Text: Romans 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
            We changed the way we think. We don't think the way we did before we got saved.
            How would Jesus react to the things that are going on in the world today?
            It is our job to be peace makers.

            Matthew 22:15-22 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
            WE must obey the laws of the land and still keep the teachings of the word of God.

            Romans 13:1-7 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

            Romans 13:1-7 The Message (MSG) Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it's God's order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you're irresponsible to the state, then you're irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you're trying to get by with something. Decent citizens should have nothing to fear.
3-5 Do you want to be on good terms with the government? Be a responsible citizen and you'll get on just fine, the government working to your advantage. But if you're breaking the rules right and left, watch out. The police aren't there just to be admired in their uniforms. God also has an interest in keeping order, and he uses them to do it. That's why you must live responsibly—not just to avoid punishment but also because it's the right way to live.
6-7 That's also why you pay taxes—so that an orderly way of life can be maintained. Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Pay your taxes, pay your bills, respect your leaders.

The law is good (Mosaic and ours)
            1 Timothy 1:8-11 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

STRUCTURE IN THE CHURCH
            Text: Matthew 7:28-29 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

            Structure= something composed of parts.

Scripture is profitable in the church
            2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
            Doctrine= teachings.
             Reproof= conviction, convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, admonish.
             Correction= to make right.
             Instruction in righteousness= the being and doing right. Pure heart.

            1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

             Sanctuary= refuge,
             A place of safety.
             Learn to defeat Satan etc.…
            A place to learn.
            Matthew 28:19. There are teachers in the church.
            A place of discipline.
             Hebrews 12:5-7 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

            A place to grow.
             2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.
            1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
            2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

            A place to fellowship.
             1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
            1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
            1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

            A place of healing.
            Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
            1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Caution
             2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
            2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Sermon notes for 5-14-2017

MOTHERS NATURE
            Text: Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

            2 Timothy 3:1-9 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

            Without natural affection, = Without natural affection. In the Greek "astorgoi' would mean; without family affection.

            In the last days Satan will attack the family.
             All of the following is satanic attack on the Christian way of life.
             This has brought corruption to our society.
            Why is so many people living in fear all the time?
What is happening?
             Children are disobeying parents.
             Men and women are are without natural affection.
            There is a lack of feelings of love and tenderness in our homes.
             Mothers reject their babies to the extent that some of them actually kill them.
            Fathers abandon their families.
             Children neglect to care for their ageing parents.
              Men and women become lovers of money and pleasure and pursue their own selfish desires.
             Parenthood, sacrificial love and care is no longer considered a worthy or dignified task.

            Loving parents have been replaced by them that are brutal and who abandon their children.

            2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves,
 Covetous, =found of silver
Boasters, =needeth or needful
 Proud, =appearing above others
Blasphemers, =against God
 Disobedient to parents, =unpersuadable
 unthankful, = ungrateful
 Unholy, = wicked
Without natural affection, = Without natural affection. In the Greek "astorgoi' would mean; without family affection.
 Trucebreakers, = breaks contracts
False accusers, = perjures
 Incontinent, = without control
Fierce, =savage
 Despisers of those that are good, = hostile to virtue
Traitors, = to commence already, to begin before the time
 Heady, = rash
 Highminded, = to inflate with self control, be lifted up with pride, be proud
 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; = self-explanatory
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: = form and rituals

From such turn away.

             Turn away from ALL of these things and follow your natural instincts such as the instinct to love one another. Be like girls are from the time they are born. They are born mothers. They mother everything they get their hands on.
            The influence of parents shapes the hearts and lives of their children.         Children that are abused in the home will abuse others when they are away from home.
            Children that are taught to honor and respect in the home will do the same outside the house. ETC…
            If Christian parents are to save their children from all the ungodly they must shield them from all the corrupt values that are in our society.
            Separate them from the world's ways and customs. Don't let the ungodly world influence them.

            Thank you Christian mom and dad for sticking to the morals and values of the Christian faith.
