Sermon text and notes for 8-19-12

Text: Ga 6:7. Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
There are two choices here. We can sow to the flesh or we can sow to the spirit. If we sow to the flesh, we will work for selfish things, recognition, position, material gain, wealth.
If we sow the wrong kind of seeds, we will reap the wrath of God but if we sow good seeds, we will reap great rewards.
God wants you to prosper
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Galatians5:22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap
also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
DUET. 22:9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.
You cannot have hybrids in your spiritual walk. Hybirds don't reproduce.
Matt. 13:19 In the parable of the sower, the sower planted seed everywhere. He had crop failer in seventy five percent of the crop. Still the potential was a hundred fold.
What shall I plant?
Do you need friends?
Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Do you need money?
Proverbs 3:9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase.
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
12And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.
Do you want long life?
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
Do you want a good family? Follow God' plan for your home.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.
Men are to take charge of their homes.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.
Wives are to be a help meet to their husbands.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Hebrews 4:12 (ERV) God's word is alive and working. It is sharper than the sharpest sword and cuts all the way into us. It cuts deep to the place where the soul and the spirit are joined. God's word cuts to the center of our joints and our bones. It judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts.
2 Timothy 3:16 (ERV) All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live.
