LET US WORSHIP

Text: John 4:19-30 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Definition of worship= 1. To adore or pay divine honors.

Daniel; Chapter three. The fairy furnace, the three Hebrew children.

King Nebuchadnezzar built an image of gold.

At the dedication he commanded everyone to bow down and worship this image.

Everyone in the kingdom bowed down except the three Hebrew children.

The three Hebrew children refused to bow down at the image. They were brought before the king. He was willing to give them a second chance.

These three men said to the king; We don't have to think about this. We will not bow down.

This made the king very angry. He commanded the soldiers to cast these men into the furnace. They made it seven times hotter than it was designed for.

The men that through these men into the furnace were killed from the heat of the furnace. The king saw that these men were not harmed. Their clothes were not burnt, their hair wasn't singed. They didn't even have the smell of smoke on them.

Not only this but the king saw a fourth man walking with them in the furnace.

The king gave these men a higher position in the kingdom and made a proclamation that no one was allowed to speak in a bod way about the God of the Jews.
