Thou shall not kill
New Testament
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The sixth commandment does not forbit all killing.
The N.I.V. says thou shall not murder.
The word murder means the malicious or premeditated killing of a human being.
Greek word for kill is raw-tsakh. This word means to kill a human being.
This commandment does not apply to animals, insects or capital punishment, self-defense, the defense of another person etc...
God commands to kill
Leviticus 24:16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Matthew 15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
