HOW SHALL I VOTE #4

Text:  2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Commandment # 5
Honour thy father and thy mother
That thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
New Testament
Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise.

The word HONOR means, High estimation, reverence, token of esteem, mark of respect, high estimation by words or actions, dignity, reputation, good name, Integrity.
Long Life
Long life is not just a reward. Having respect for parents will bring respect for authority in every area of our lives. Without this authority our society will not survive.

Many parents just want to be loved by their children.
Adult parents without authority are adult piers, not parents.
Therefore, Honor implies authority. Parents today just want love from their children. All that is good but love without authority will bring about a corrupt result in the children.
Training implies authority
The trained child receives character building when growing up. This training will continue in their lives when they become adults. They will respect those in authority. This brings order and respect. This process will bring about a strong and lasting society. Churchs, cities, states, countries are as strong as their families.
Children growing up without parental discipline and training will in most cases result in undesired results.
Boys without fathers in most cases results in them mistreating women, acting out in society and committing crime. Boy without fathers are more likely to become gay than those with fathers.
Girls without mothers seek wrong men and become promiscuous. Girls without mothers are more likely to become gay.
Without the authority of parents there will be no Godly authority in our society.

Honor brings freedom
Honoring parents is the best antidote to dictatorship. Dictators separate the children from their parents. They do this to transfer authority from parents to themselves. Even in Democratic societies the bigger the government the more likely this problem.

Commandment # 6
Thou shall not kill
New Testament
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

The sixth commandment does not forbid all killing.
The N.I.V. says thou shall not murder.
The word murder means the malicious or premeditated killing of a human being.
Greek word for kill is raw-tsakh. This word means to kill a human being.
This commandment does not apply to animals, insects or capital punishment, self-defense, the defense of another person etc..

God commands to kill
Leviticus 24:16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.
Exodus 22:19 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
