PASS IT ON

            TEXT:  2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

            Luke 4:16-27 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said. Is not this Joseph's son?

23 And he said unto them. Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias (Elijah), when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

26 But unto none of them was Elias (Elijah) sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus (Elisha) the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

Ministry in the church

1.     Anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

2.     Heal the broken hearted.

3.     Preach deliverance to the captives.

4.     Bring sight to the blind.

5.     Set at liberty them that are bruised.

6.     To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

7.               Isaiah 61 anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;

8.     Bind up the brokenhearted,

9.      Proclaim liberty to the captives,

10. Opening of the prison to them that are bound;

11.  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

12.  Proclaim the day of vengeance of our God.

13.  Comfort all that mourn;

14. Give unto them beauty for ashes.

15.  Give them oil of joy for mourning

16.  Give them the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

17.  They might be called trees of righteousness.

18.  And they shall build the old wastes.

19.  We shall raise up the former desolations.

20. They shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

21. Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks.

22. The sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

23. Ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord.

24. Men shall call you the Ministers of our God.

25. Ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles.

26. For your shame ye shall have double.

27. Everlasting joy shall be unto them.

28.  I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth.

29.  I will make an everlasting covenant with them. (The Gentiles).

30. All that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.

31. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord.

32.  My soul shall be joyful in my God.

33.  He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation.

34.  He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

35.  For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

            Luke 7:12-15 Jesus RAISED THE DEAD . (Funeral procession).

            Mark 5:22-43. JAIRUS and the WOMEN TOUCHED THE BORDER OF HIS GARMENT AND WAS HEALED.

            Mark 2:1-12 A man that was sick of the palsy was let down through the roof. His SINS WERE FORGIVEN.

            When Jesus went to Calvary, he made all this available to the whole world.

Step in his shoes

            John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

            We are to continue his ministry. What can we do that Jesus didn't do?

             Acts 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

            Spirit of the Lord is upon me. This spirit is still affective today. Jesus is ministering through you.

My job, your job, i.e. your calling

            1 Corinthians 12:1-6 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

            1 Corinthians 12:12-18 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear shall say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

            Ephesians 4:1-11 therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

              8. Wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

              11. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

            Vocation= a call, summons or impulsion to perform a certain function or enter a certain career. Vocation is your job.
