LET US PRAY

Text: Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
Children learn to pray; Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray to God my soul to take.
If I should live for other days,
I pray the Lord to guide my ways.
Adults learn to pray; John taught his disciples to pray.
Matthew 6:5-13  And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Important things about prayer
            1. Teach us to pray, everyone has to learn, as John also taught his disciples. When do we pray?
Set a regular time.  How long do we pray? Without ceasing.
            2. When thou prayest, enter into thy closet. Find a place to be alone (prayer closet).  The house of prayer. Jesus went up on the mountain to pray alone.
            3. Use not vain repetitions. Memorized prayers.
 Jesus pattern for prayer
Matthew 6: 9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
RESULTS OF PRAYING
James 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Matt.17:14-21 This dumb spirit comes out only by fasting and prayer (Mark 9:29).
Mathew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Acts1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. The results of this prayer was that they received the HOLY GHOST.
Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Peter was RELEASED FROM PRISON.
1 Timothy 4:4-5  For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. OUR FOOD IS BLESSED.

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Where to pray
Matt. 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer. YOUR BODY is the temple of GOD, MAKE IT THE HOUSE OF PRAYER.

Luke 6:21 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Psalms 121:1-2 [[A Song of degrees.]] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
