Text: 1 Kings 8:10-14 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.
12 Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in forever.
14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;).
We came to a place that had no church. This place had more brothels than any community in the United States. God put us here to build him a place of worship. Let's see what has transpired.
Church history
The church was started May first two thousand one. We assembled on Sundays at the Tracy's home in Dayton and at the Peter's- Morton's home for mid-week bible- study in south Carson City. In July of two thousand one we changed our services to my home in Johnson Lane area. We started with eleven people. Since then, we have ministered to a lot of people. We have seen many lives change to follow Jesus.
We are a come- as you are- church. We believe people should dress in a decent matter and appearance should display gender identification.
Church property
We purchased this property March fourteenth Two thousand and two. A major renovation and expansion of the building began. This work lasted for one year and seven months. The building program included two bathrooms a complete kitchen and a sound booth. Since then, we have made many improvements. These include the children's play area including fence and swing set. We have added a lot of sidewalk and lighting. We added a permanent sign, block wall and paved all the parking area. We have air conditioning and forced air heating. Purpose of the church
Introduce people to Jesus. (Save the lost).
Show people the way of righteousness.
Worship God together in spirit and in truth.
Minister to those in need, both spiritual and material needs.
Preach and teach God's word.
Fellowship with other Christians.
Teach personal ministry.
What do we believe?
We believe there is one God who has many attributes and functions.
We believe the bible, in its original manuscripts is God speaking to us.
God's word is without era. God's word cannot be changed or replaced; it MUST be accepted as is. We cannot put his word on trial.
We believe in the gifts of the spirit. The evidence of these gifts is the fruit of the spirit.
We are a family- oriented church. We believe parents should worship together with their children. GOD instructs parents to train their children.
We believe children need to be educated by mom and dad. (Home-schooled).
What have we accomplished?
Several books and articles have been written by those in this church.
Children have grown up in this church to be strong spirit filled young adults. Other children are on their way to do the same. This is our greatest accomplishments.
Many have been fed spiritually and physically.
We have supported several missionaries. Some in other countries and some in our community.
