A DEEPER WALK

Text: Matthew 13: 1-9 The same day went Jesus out of the house and sat by the sea side.
And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Many want what you have
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The disciples hear, see, understand and are healed.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Meaning of parable
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

Received seed by the wayside.
Understandeth it not. The wicked one catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Received the seed into stony places.
Heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it. Yet hath he not root in himself. Dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

            Received seed among the thorns.
Heareth the word.  The care of this world.  Deceitfulness of riches Choke the word.  He becometh unfruitful.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Received seed into the good ground.
Heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Many hears the word. Many understand the word. Many receive the word with joy. All this isn't enough, we MUST bear fruit.
Galatians 5:22-26  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
