Text: Ephesians 5:30-33 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Fathers are to be commended for providing food, shelter, clothing, education etc.
Today we give thanks to our fathers for all that they do.
Great home
We think of great homes as being lavish, well decorated, nice furniture etc.
What could be better?
A home filled with joy, happy people, everyone working together.
Let's see what it takes to achieve this.
Marry the right person
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?
Work Together
Matthew 19:5-6
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Don't allow anyone or anything come between you and your spouse. This includes family and inlaws.
Workaholics can be a problem.
Sports can be a problem.
Ladies groups can be a problem.
Preacher had 100 people.
Work together for the same goals. Having different goals will cause strife and or tension.
Don't be selfish. Consider your spouse. What does he or she want. What does he or she like to do? Plan your vacation together.
Large families
Psalm 127:4-5 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Be one together
John 17:21-23 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Proverbs 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.
Psalm 34:3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psalm 55:14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Let's give honor today to fathers and mothers that work hard to provide good homes and love for each other and their children.
