THE HEALER

Text: Isaiah 53:1-5 Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

            Borne our griefs.

            Carried our sorrows.

            Wounded for our transgressions.

            Bruised for our iniquities.

            Chastisement of our peace.

With his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.

Who needs healing?

Preach the gospel.    Guilt of sin.   Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Brokenhearted.         Those hurt by broken trust. By divorce. Disappointed                                                                                                                                                               s                                                 in self-achievement etc…

The captive.                Those in bondage to alcohol, drugs porn, homosexual

                                                  activity etc…

The blind.                     The blind don't understand why they have the

                                                   troubles they have.

The bruised.                  Those that are scared by the abuse of others.

Where do we get our answers?

            Borne our griefs.

            Carried our sorrows.

            Wounded for our transgressions.

            Bruised for our iniquities.

            Chastisement of our peace.

With his stripes we are healed.

Jesus did all this for you and me. Not just salvation.

When do we need these?

            When we are sinners.

Satan attacks when we decide to live for Jesus.

Satan attracts when we rededicate our lives to him.
