NO BIGOTS HERE

          Text: James 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

            There are many ways to be a bigot. A bigot is;

 1. A person who holds blindly and intolerantly to a particular creed, opinion etc…

2. A narrow minded intolerant person.

3. Narrow- minded, intolerant person.

How are people prejudice?

Racial.

           Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

          Colossians 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Political.

           Matthew 22:17-21 Tell us therefore, what thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

                18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
                19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
                20 And he saith unto them, whose is this image and superscription?
                21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Religious.

           James 1:26-27 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

                27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Education

            God deals the same with the illiterate as he does with the educated.

Occupation

          Ephesians 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Appearance

          Can you tell if a person is a Christian by the way he looks? Sometimes you can. Most of the time you can't.

          God looks at the heart. Skinny, fat, tall, short, old, young etc…

Financial

          James 2:2-6 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

                And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

                Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Cultural- Life style

          James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

          Colossians 3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

          Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
            Sometimes we are supposed to give special recognition to someone because of their position or office they hold.
