VITAL SYSTEMS, FELLOWSHIP
Text: 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
The church is the body of Christ. In the human body there are nine systems. The repertory system, the skeletal system, the nerve system, the circulatory etc… In every Church there are should be five systems. These systems are; evangelism, disciple, worship, fellowship, and ministry.
We are going to look at each one of these systems. Today we will look at fellowship.
Definition of Fellowship
fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation
a) the share which one has in anything, participation
b)  fellowship, intimacy
1) the right hand as a sign and pledge of fellowship (in fulfilling the apostolic office)
c) a gift jointly contributed, a collection, a contribution, as exhibiting an embodiment and proof of fellowship
fellowship 12, communion 4, communication 1, distribution 1, contribution 1, to communicate 1
We have fellowship with God and one another.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Romans 14:7 For none of us lives to himself and no one dies to himself.
We are part of one another.
Activities in Fellowship
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Benefits of fellowship
We are known by the company we keep.
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
God wants us to have a victorious life. This doesn't just happen. The way we live will determine the quality of life we have.
What will interfere with our fellowship? With God, with each other.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness, and what communion hath light with darkness?
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Why do Christians walk in darkness?
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
