JESUS IN OUR MIDST

          Text: Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

          Let's look at the whole setting of this scripture.

          Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

          ¹⁶But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

          ¹⁷And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

         

          ²¹Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

           ²²Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Our Goal is Restoration

          Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

          Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

          15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

          Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace and things wherewith one may edify another.

          2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

     Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

         

          Galatians 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

We have the power

          Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

          God will honor us and what we do when we follow his instruction.

When we take care of God's business, he will be in our midst and move on our behalf.

          ¹⁹Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
