Text: 1 Corinthians 12 1-31 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
God wants us to understand spiritual gifts.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Calleth Jesus accursed.
(cursed). If you say Jesus is cursed, you are not of God.
Jesus is the Lord. He is the boss.
To understand that Jesus is the Lord comes by revelation.
Diversities of gifts
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
Diversities of gifts.
There are differences in the gifts.
Does using the gifts make you spiritual?
Who is spiritual? Gifts do not determine spirituality.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Matthew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Differences of administrations
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
Differences of administrations.
The gifts are presented in different ways. Some in public, some one on one etc.
Diversities of operations
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
Some gifts are knowing gifts, some are action gifts, some, some are speaking gifts and Some are leadership gifts.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
Leadership gifts
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors, and teachers.
Apostles= one sent forth.
Prophets= Speak on God's behalf.
Evangelists= Preacher.
Pastors= Shepard.
Teachers= Educator.
Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting(equipping) of the saints, for the work of the ministry(service), for the edifying of the body of Christ.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
Word of wisdom
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Matthew 13:54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
Word of knowledge
Knowledge comes from study. Special knowledge comes from a special gift of God.
Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
God will give us special knowledge to use for his work.
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
To another faith by the same Spirit.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Gifts of healing
To another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:28-31 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
