29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Wait = bind together or twisted.

Power of God, not man
1 Corinthians 1:18-31 NET
For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
The message of the cross in not only wisdom and truth. It involves the power of God coming down to save, heal, cast out demons, and redeem from the power of sin.
19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent. Thwart= hinder, obstruct, or defeat.
20 Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish?
The wisdom of this world is wisdom that excludes God. It emphasizes human self-sufficiency, makes man the highest authority and refuses to recognize God's revelation Jesus Christ. God calls this foolish. Because of this humans fail to know their creator. We as Christians must not accept todays world view. NEVER compromise the gospel with the world.
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.
This is not the method of preaching. It is the message of Lordship and the resurrected Christ.
Jews and Greeks with carnal thinking
22 For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,
23 but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.
24 But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
God Is far above us
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26 Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers, and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position.
27 But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.
28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something.
29 so that no one can boast in his presence.
We can't boast about our wisdom or abilities.
30 He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.
31 So that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.
How to be strong (next week)
Ephesians 6:10-17 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Wiles= Lie in wait.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, he used the word of God as a weapon.
