YOU HAVE POWER

Text: 1 Corinthians 2:1-7 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.
Man's wisdom.
2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
There's a lot of manmade religion out there. I want the real thing!
1 Corinthians 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.
Titus 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Power starts with salvation
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
We receive power from God when we receive him as our personal savior.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
What is this power for?
Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them.
           Power against unclean spirits.
To cast them out, and to.
           Heal all manner of sickness.
          Heal all manner of disease.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to.
Tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the.
Power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
God's kingdom started at Calvary.
Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Luke 4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

Resurrection power.

1 Corinthians 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. After the resurrection.
God's power, not ours.
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
