Text: 1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
The church is the body of Christ. In the human body there are nine systems. The repertory system, the skeletal system, the nerve system, the circulatory etc… In every Church there are should be five systems. These systems are;C, disciple, worship, fellowship, and ministry.
We are going to look at each one of these systems. We will start today with Evangelism.
Why do we need evangelism?
Everyone needs to get saved.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
It is sin that separates us from God. God hates sin because sin always brings suffering and pain. God does not want us to suffer so he made provision. He gave his son on the cross to pay the debt we owed for our sin.
Woman at the well
Everyone needs to have life.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Who gives this life?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
How do we get life?
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
What can I do?
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
The best way to evangelize
Acts 8:26-40
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, "Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza." ([a]This is a desert road.)
27 So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship,
28 and he was returning and sitting in his [b]chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this [c]chariot."
30 Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?"
31 And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this:
" He was led as a sheep to slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He does not open His mouth.
33 " In humiliation His judgment was taken away;
For His life is removed from the earth."
34 The eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?"
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.
36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch *said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?"
37 [[f]And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]
38 And he ordered the [g]chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, [h]but went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip [i]found himself at [j] Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.
